Discovered the oldest pizzeria in St. Louis currently operating (est. in 1950). Monte Bello Pizzeria is known for its pizza and homemade toasted ravioli, sausage and sauces. Check them out – we rated it as the best pizza and hidden gem in STL. We order 1/2 sausage & pepperoni and the other half bacon, onion and green pepper (delicious!)
Wow – this place is the true definition of a hidden gem. It is in the basement and has a small dining area, it takes a while to get the food but it is worth the wait. The service is great, family ran and the work together to take care of patrons.

My last pizza review, I said that “hands down it was the best”…well I just had Monte Bello’s and this pizza has it’s own lane. Talking about pure deliciousness!! Do you know I pulled over twice on the way home!? I couldn’t resist. It’s just that good!! Worth checking out!!
